From the Hudson River to the Hudson Highlands...

Come experience the beautiful fall weather in the Hudson Valley as you run through 13.1 miles of the pristine Hudson Highlands State Park.

The Castle to River Run is comprised of two trail races – a Half Marathon and 5k – plus a Kids Costumed Fun Run to benefit the Friends of Philipstown Recreation in Garrison, New York.

All three races take place in the historic Hudson Valley. The Half Marathon race takes you up past Osborn’s Castle at the Castle Rock Unique Area and down to the Hudson River.

While the 1/2 is recommended for runners or fast hikers, the 5k is open to runners, walkers, and hikers of all abilities.

The 5K race follows part of Benedict Arnold’s escape path down to the Hudson River and back to the recreation center.

The Kids 1-mile costume run takes place right on the recreation center grounds.

Both the Half Marathon and 5k feature a mix of single track, double-track, grass, and small sections of pavement.

The 5k is relatively flat and skirts the Hudson River as it winds through the Philipstown Rec and NY State Park trails. It’s a beautiful loop to run, walk, or hike!

The Half Marathon follows the 5k route, then climbs and descends two challenging hills where you are rewarded with beautiful views of the river and state park.

Runners will find a well-marked course, on-course aid station (for the half), and plenty of camaraderie from spectators, volunteers, and fellow runners.
